Alexander Query and Sarah Henderson Query

Alexander Query was born about 1832 in Canada according to census and his military records. He died on January 17, 1894 in Cloud County, Clyde, Kansas.  On April 2, 1866 he married Sarah A. Henderson. She was born about 1850 in Maryland and died in Clyde, Cloud County, Kansas.

I have had lots of trouble trying to research Alexander and his family. His surname has been recorded in many different spellings probably due to the fact that Alexander’s native tongue was French so he probably had an accent that was difficult to understand. Various spellings include:  Query, Queary, Quary, Quarry, Querry, Queree , Querrie and even LaQuire.

Alexander was a prisoner of war during the Civil War.  His war records are online here and also at my website I do have more information about him and his family.
